Stacy Bensabath, mon graphiste.

As announced, as promised, I am now Ms Canada 2011 and IFBB Pro. What pleasure, what sense of pride and incredible accomplishment, what a dream! Having a dream allows us to advance and evolve, and this leads us to be better day after day. Mine started to materialize last year when that I took the decision to become the new Canadian professional bodybuilder and that I was going to win the Canadian Championships on October 9th, 2011. It was a decision of heart and head, and I did everything I had to do to make this happen. I may have sounded very cocky for many, but those who have understood the essence of my way of thinking can today agree about the greatness my inner strength. In 2010, I got a score of 8 for my physique, while the best possible score is 5. I had taken the decision that I’d get a 5 this year, and this is what I got. I did everything I said. I also wanted to offer a customised sweater with my effigy to all people who purchased my tickets for the evening finals, and I also did it. There has been lots of efforts in this preparation, and I definitely grew up emotionally at the same time, which makes me even more proud. But none of it all would have been the same if it hadn’t been for key people who helped me and supported me throughout my journey, and I would like to thank them now.
First, Mathieu Toupin of TNT Nutrition (www.tntnutrition.ca) is my main sponsor. To build a physique like mine, it takes the right tools and the right materials, and I would have never reached my goal without supplements. Mathieu has generously given me all the supplements I needed for two years now. For a person like me, single mother and self-employed, to have a sponsorships like that is a dream come true because it is clear that I could never afford all that. Mathieu, a great adventure awaits us for years to come, and I will continue to keep my promises just as I did. Thank you wholeheartedly for your help and your vote of confidence.
Gym V.I.P., whose owner is François Roch. I’ve been training there for 3 years and I also work there as a private trainer. Working conditions I have with them are unique, and I know for sure because I often have the chance to discuss with other coaches of different gyms, and no one has the opportunity as I have with the Gym V.I.P. The entire team is behind me and encourages me day after day, and the very fraternal atmosphere that reins over there is great. The company currently has two branches, one in Le Gardeur, and the other one in L’Épiphanie, and a third will emerge in L’Assomption in 2012. Like me, they have specific goals and they reach them and exceed them with professionalism. Thank you for the opportunity for being part of your team, this helps me much more that you might think.
Kinatex Sports Physio of Repentigny, whose owner is Mathieu Dalphond ( www.kinatex.com ). He’s also been partner of my success for the past 2 years. He helps me keep my “machine” in the order and ”fixes” me quickly whenever I need. When you push your body to extreme limits as I do, there may be injuries due to the intensity of my activity. His care allowed me to stay fit and healthy throughout my preparation, and his generosity is always impressive. He is dedicated, passionate, and his involvement in my career touches me much.
Dr. Christine Laliberté, chiropractor, whose clinic is located in Repentigny ( www.chiro-optimal.com ) has also really helped me over the past two years. She widened the lead to find solutions to problems of my physique that occured after an accident more than 15 years ago. She graciously offered me so much care that I could never afford, and this helped me continue to expand my body as you can see today. Each advice, each treatment, she gives them with her heart and soul, and I have only great words for elle.
I sincerely believe in different modes of treatment to achieve a physical balance, and my two therapists were able to greatly help me with their respective discipline. Thank you very much!
The magazine Muscle Insider, whose owner is Scott Welch. As early as last year at the Canadian Championship, he’s offered me his support. Moreover, in each edition of the magazine, there’s always a part dedicated to women bodybuilders, in addition to lots of photos of athletes both in the mag and on its website (www.muscle-insider.com). This year, Muscle Insider has joined me in my project of t-shirts for my supporters. Not only did they pay a portion of the costs of production, but daring to put their logo on my shirt to show that they really believed in my potential to become the next IFBB PRO was a very nice vote of confidence. I am only in my 3rd year of competition so having support from a big league player like Muscle Insider means a lot to me.
Stacy Bensabath, my graphic designer. With his talent, his generosity and his perfectionism, I have create a unique and professional brand image. He takes care of my website, my business cards and all my graphics needs. It was him who created the logo that many of my friends have proudly worn during the Canadian Nationals. When I decided to have my own website, I only had to express my expectations about how to introduce myself to the public, and he came up with an impeccable design that truly represented the person I am. Everytime I have a question, he’s available to help me, and he’s also an excellent life coach. Check out his web site at http://www.fidelecompagnon.com/accueil.html and I swear that if you decide to give him your project, you will be 100% satisfied. Thank you Stacy to be who you are!
Several people in the industry have also shown me that they believed in my potential: Joe Spinello (promoter of the Canadian Championships and chairman at APQ ), Benoit Brodeur (promoter of events in Quebec and chairman at APQ), Garry Bartlett (official photographer of the CBBF and journalist for various BB mags including Inside Fitness Canada and MuscleMag), Chris Parker (affiliated to the CBBF), Simon Voyer (Mr. Canada 2005 and IFBB PRO)… All of these people, and many others that I have not named, have shown me in different ways that I was an international level athlete who deserved to get her professional status.
I also have the chance to have supporters around the world who have contributed financially to my success: Olivier, Don, Dany, Scott, Paul, Adam, Dan, Julius, Matthias, Ruban… Each of them wanted that I reach my dream, and their generosity was never according to anything more than a message of thanks. On the contrary, they all approved that I remained professional and that I don’t use the sex industry to earn money as unfortunately many other FBB do. The competition is excessively expensive, just as life is, but your generosity has undoubtedly made the difference in my preparation and my dream. I am immensely grateful.
My family, my friends (both new and old), my clients, different owners of TNT Nutrition stores and the entire team of athletes TNT… Even if some of you did not agree with my choice a few years ago, I know you are all happy for me today and you know that I am in the right place in this crazy world that is bodybuilding, so thanks to encourage me day after day.
The media people who have offered me opportunities of visibility: Franca Perrotto of Franca Foto (thanks for your superb work!), weeklies local of my region (L’echo de Repentigny and L’Hbedo Rive-Nord), the team of the Francs-Tireurs of Télé-Québec, Christian Tétreault (with its Friday email at Radio NRJ), Catherine Léger of Catfight theater company and Dominique Lafond photographer, the team from L’après-midi porte conseil at the radio of Radio-Canada, the people of the Nouveau Théâtre Expérimental show Zoo 2011, Gene X Hwang photographer, all the people who own forums or sites linked to the bodybuilding… I try to demystify female bodybuilding and to provide a new look at it so every moment of visibility that you give me help me achieve this goal.
And to you who’s reading this, you that I have not named but that far or close have contributed to my success, I say thank you. I am beginning a career that will lead me to new heights, and I am sure that I’ll achieve and surpass all the objectives that I’ll have. I have a great inner strength, I’m blessed with a higher power that watches over me, and I have the best support team which I could possibly dream of. A huge thank you to each and everyone of you and now that I am an IFBB PRO, you will see that nothing can stop me.
